North East Tribal Tour

Places to See: Delhi - Dibrugarh - Namdapha - Dibru - Pasighat - Along - Daporijo - Ziro - Itanagar - Tawang - Dirang - Nameri - Guwahati

Day 01: Arrive Delhi - Dibrugarh
Arrive Delhi. Connecting flight for Dibrugarh. Upon arrival at Dibrugarh airport, you are welcomed and transferred to a tea estate. After lunch, visit a tea garden and admire the lifestyle of advises in the tea estate. You will be accommodated in a host bungalows inside the garden. In the evening enjoy the night falling with spring scent. Stay overnight at bungalow in Dibrugarh.

Day 02: Dibrugarh - Namdapha
Breakfast in hotel then drive to Namdapha National Park. On arrival check into a Camp Namdapha Resort.

Day 03: Namdapha National Park
Today, we explore the Namdapha National Park and the tribal villages around the park. It is home to many wild animals and is the one of the wildest National park of India. Overnight in Namdapha resorts.

Day 04: Namdapha National Park - Dibru Saikhowa National Park
Breakfast and drive to Dibru Saikhowa National Park, which is one of the few places where the feral horses are still found. Stay over night at Dibru Saikowa.

Day 05: Roing - Brahmaputra River Crossing - Sadiya
Early morning after breakafst drive to Sapakhowa ferry ghat to cross Brahmaputra and reach Sadiya, the capital of Chutiya kingdom in 13th and 14th century. After visiting some local prominent sites, move on to Roing to visit the ruins of Bhismaknagar. Stay overnight at the Government Guesthouse.

Day 06: Pasighat - Siang - Lohit Rivers
Proceed to Pasighat. Enjoy the breathtaking sight of confluence of rivers Siang and Lohit of Arunachal Pradesh that makes mighty Brahmaputra River. You halt during the night at the Government Guesthouse.

Day 07: Along - Adi Tribal Village
Day proceed to Along (160km). Enroute you visit to Adi (Minyong), a tribal village to see the colourful people, their dances and their culture. On reaching Along check in for accommodation at Govt. Circuit House.

Day 08: Daporijo - Adi (Galong) Tribe
Today drive to an Adi Galong tribal village. Enjoy your time with the colourful locals. Drive down to Daporijo (160km) for overnight stay at Govt. Circuit House.

Day 09: Ziro
Leave from Ziro (190km) center of Apatani culture. Throughout the path you can enjoy the practice of mean culture along with agriculture. On reaching Ziro, you enjoy some cultural events by Apatani locals and dance on to their tunes. You stay overnight at Ziro Circuit House.

Day 10: Ziro - Itanagar
Early morning drive to Itanagar (180km), the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. Spend the day at leisure and stay overnight at the hotel in at Itanagar.

Day 11: Itanagar
Today spend the day exploring the people and local sightseeing. Return to Itanagar for overnight stay.

Day 12: Rupa - Shertukpen
Early morning drive to Rupa. Enjoy the breathtaking scenic beauty of this tiny hill station. Visit a Shertukpen Tribal village. Stay overnight at Govt Guest House.

Day 13: Tawang - Sela Pass - Dirang Village
Next day visit the upper and the lower 'Gompa' (Buddhist Monastery) at Bomdilla. After a leisurely breakfast depart for Tawang. Drive to Dirang Basti, a 'Dirang Monpa' tribal village. Dirang town overlooks the fast flowing Dirang River, Sela Pass (13703ft) Jaswant, Garh Chino and Indian war memorial. Check in at the hotel for overnight stay. In the night you can see illuminated Tawang Monastery.

Day 14: Tawang
Next day after breakfast, visit 350years old Buddhist monastery, locally known as Gompa. Visit the nunneries locally called Ani Gompa and Urgelling Monastery, 460 years old Monastery established by lama Urghen Sangpo Bhumthang. In the evening enjoy ethnic Monpa tribal dances and dances by Lamas.

Day 15: Tawang - Zemithang
Following morning drive to Zemithang to meet the Monpa tribal peoples. Enjoy a picnic lunch at tourist lodge by the riverside. Return to Tawang for some for cultural activity.

Day 16: Jang - Dirang - Sela Peak
Next day drive to Jang to encounter the waterfalls, one of the breathtaking sights. Proceed to Dirang, another heart pulling place with scenic beauty, enroute stopping at Sela Top (13000 ft). Check into hotel for overnight stay. Day 17: Dirang
Explore the beauty of the Sangti valley and trek through the 'Dirang Monpa' Tribal village where rare black-necked cranes come for wintering. Stay overnight at Dirang.

Day 18: Nameri National Park
Next morning drive to Nameri National Park, the last house of white winged wood duck along with many other rare species. Spend the entire day on an elephant ride. You stay in the thatched hut in the eco camp, adjacent to the Nameri National Park.

Day 19: Guwahati - Tipi - Guwahati

Drive to Guwahati enroute stopping at Tipi, where lies Orchidarium, a glass house having 7500 orchids. Stay overnight at the hotel in Guwahati.

Day 20: Guwahati
Day spend the day exploring Guwahati city, gateway to North-East India. Visit museum, Kalakshetra, Kamakhya temples where Tantricism is still practiced. In the evening set out on a river cruise to watch the sunset and why the river is locally called 'Luit'- colour of blood.

Day 21: Guwahati - Delhi - Departure
Breakfast in hotel. Next day relax till the time of departure to Guwahati airport for Delhi and connecting flight to onward destination.
