Orissa has a rich past and cultural heritage. From ancient age this state has been patronized for its glorious art and culture. To save the testimony of the state`s art and culture several museums were established in Orissa. Some important museums of this state are:
Berhumpur Branch Museum, Ganjam: The Branch Museum is situated at Ganjam in Orissa. This Museum contains different types of Sculptures, arms and Armour, metal objects, glass objects, ivory, patchier, glass jars and many other anthropological elements.
Dhenkanal Science Centre, Dhenkanal: Dhenkanal Science Center of Orissa was established in 1995 with a view to promote basic scientific knowledge to the children and common people of the
locality.
District Museum: District Museum is located at the District library in Khadiapara. It has rare collection of stone sculptures, metal images, metal objects, jewellery, terracotta, glass objects,
anthropological objects, manuscripts, wooden objects, textiles etc.
District Museum Bargarh: District Museum, Bargarh is situated near college road. It holds a huge collection of Stone sculptures, coins, one sword, tribal jewellery, terracotta, toys, palm-leaf manuscripts and musical instruments.
Branch Museum, Cuttack: Branch Museum is the storehouse of different types of ancient art of that region. It was established in 1979.
Orissa State Museum: Orissa state Museum is located at Bhubaneswar.The museum is famous for its rare and huge assortment of manuscripts. Different types of copper plates, coins, stone
inscriptions, age-old bronze tools and traditional & folk musical instruments, miniature paintings, patta paintings, brassware, and sculptures are also preserved there.
