Uttar Pradesh, the fourth largest state of the northern part of India is one of the ancient places of Indian art and culture. From Vedic age Uttar Pradesh is famous for its arts and crafts. Many archaelogical elements were excavated from this state .To preserve the ancient art and archaelogical elements many Museums were established in this state.Apart from that there are several educational museums in the state.Some major Museums are: Archaeological Museum, Lucknow: The Archaeological Museum, located at Lucknow was established in 1960 and contains several types of Plaster casts, models, seals, coins, terracotta etc

Bal Sangrahalaya, Lucknow: Bal Sangrahalaya, located at Motilal Nehru Marg is a well-known children Museum. It houses scientific models paintings, sculptures etc.

Bharat Kala Bhavan: Located inside the campus of Banaras Hindu University, Uttar Pradesh Bharat Kala Bhavan is one of the famous storehouses of Indian Heritage.

Botany Museum: Botany Museum, located at Jaunpur is one of the famous Botanical Museums of India.

Baudh Sangrahalaya, Padrauna: This Archaeological Museum is situated at KushiNagar Janpath and contains several Terracotta, pots, sculptures stone sculpture, etc.

Bundelkhand Chhatrasal Museum, Banda: Bundelkhand Chhatrasal Museum was established in 1955 and houses various types of anthropological and archeological collection.

Plants (CIMAP) Museum, Lucknow: Central Institute Of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Museum is the pioneer institute in the field of Botanical research in India.

D N Majumdar Museum, Lucknow: D N Majumdar Museum located at Aliganj Scheme is the storehouse of art and craft of Lucknow, and surrounding region.

Commerce Museum, Gorakhpur: Commerce Museum was established in the year 1969 under the Commerce Department of Gorakhpur University.

Army Service Corps Museum, Bareilly: Army Service Corps Museum is located inside the campus Army Service Corps School and showcases several items of Army Service Corps.
