traditionally, each newly installed ruler would be blind-folded and escorted
by Minas to the Secret Treasure Vault and permitted to choose one object
from the hoard for himself. See the awesome
Jai Van, the world's
largest cannon on wheel, and the cannon foundry complete with moulds, kilns
and implements. Its intricate water supply and storage system is considered
a marvel of planning.
Visit the
Nahargarh Fort- The Tiger Fort: built in 1734, lies
northwest of the
City Palace and provides panoramic view of the city
down below. It used to be the royal retreat for Maharanis and was a personal
treasury also.

Ajmer, 132 km from Jaipur. Known for the
tomb of Persian saint Khwaja
Moinuddin Chisti, popularity known as
Dargarh Sharif. Other
popular places of tourist interest in Ajmer are
Shah Jahan's Mosque.
This mosque is the most beautiful of all the structures, in the Dargarh
precinct. It is made of white marble, delicately carved with trellis - work,
Adhai -Din -Ka Jhonpra, built in just two and a half days and
Nariyan
a Jain temple.
Pushkar - The picturesque town Located11 km from Ajmer. It is one of the

most reverd places for Hindus and referred to as "
Tirth Raj".
According to Padam Puran, Lord Brahma was in search of a suitable place for
a Vedic Yagna (Sacrifice). While contemplating., a lotus fell down from his
hand on the earth and water spurted form three places, one of them was
Pushkar, and Brahma decided to perform his yagna over here.

Two day trip to Sariska Tiger Reserve
The
Sariska forest was once the exclusive hunting preserve of the
rulers of Alwar. Drive through the sanctuary in a jeep with a local forest
guide. It has total area of 788 Sq. km.

The
rich wildlife of
Sariska consists of tiger, leopards, hyena, jungle
cat, samber, chital, nilgai, chausingha, jackal, wild boars, wild dogs,
langurs and rhesus monkeys. The interesting spots are the sacred shrines of
Buddha Hanuman and old temple.
