Spiritual leaders like Ma
Anandamayi and Swami Sevanand as well as the last British
Viceroy of India - Lord Louis Mountbatten were amongst the
other reverd visitors to the palace. In 1947, when India
gained independence, the kingdom of Tehri Garhwal was merged
with the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Now, home to Ananda, this
royal precinct and palace of the past is bestowed with renewed
tranquility. As South East Asia's finest Destination Spa,
Ananda brings alive a spiritual vision, an uplifting wisdom of
the ages and a pure bliss of being. Voyage into the scared
source of the Ganges and explore the beguiling mystique of the
Himalayan mountains.
